Update - All renovation and new construction at Glendale High School has been pushed back to the third bond in the current series of three bonds (the first being approved in April of 2019). The third will be voted on in April of 2026. Monies for planning and design for Glendale High renovations and new construction might be apart of the second bond in April of 2023. Although we'll have to wail a little longer, a new main gym and other improved athletic facilities will happen!
- The current gym seats 1,200 for basketball. New bleachers installed in 1999 cut the capacity in half from the original capacity of 2,200 (circa 1963). The new gym needs to seat at least 2,200 to return Falcon Court to its original seating capacity.
- High ceilings and additional wall space (currently not available in Falcon Court) would be very helpful in displaying banners from the many Glendale athletic accomplishments over the decades as well as sponsorship/donor ads. - Center-court, overheard scoreboard has become a common component of modern high school gyms, which Falcon Court can't have due to the low ceiling. The overheard scoreboard should have an LED type video screen for messages and sponsorship ads. - The non-student, parent/fan seating area should have chair-back style seating (may or may not be telescopic and/or fixed type seating depending on floor space needs), which is also very common in modern high school gyms. - Student seating should consist of molded plastic bleacher seating, not wood. They may or may not have a bleacher-back component to them. - If there the designs allows, it would be nice to have some lobby/concourse space for photos and graphics displaying the proud tradition of Glendale athletics and some of the coaches/athletes that have contributed to the history of GHS sports. - Bleacher seating should be added to the auxiliary gym, which currently has no seating for the public. - Larger training room to provide our athletics with the best possible facilities. Right now, there's only one training table in the current Falcon Court. Most modern high school facilities have around four. |

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
We had the unique opportunity to design and install a combination of railing systems all within the same area. The SHOE™ Patented DrySet system adorns the stairs and higher level balconies. The CUBE™ Cable is featured on level runs on both sides of the indoor gym and we also fabricated several custom glass gates on the uppermost part of the seating area.
PATENTED SHOE™ GLASS RAILING SYSTEM
SHOE Glass Railing System (Patented) is an aluminum structural glass railing system. Emphasis on our DrySet (Patented) mount, reduces installation costs by more than 50%. This, in turn, reduces the final cost to the customer. Maintenance costs are also reduced significantly due to the ease of replacement of glass panels or any reconfiguration. First Baptist Church features our fascia mounted all-glass SHOE™ system.
CUBE™ STAINLESS STEEL CABLE RAILINGS
CUBE™ Stainless Steel Cable Railings provides clean defined lines and a robust contemporary look. The system is made of 2”x2” square posts, terminating into monolithic pyramid top cap creating continuous clean lines throughout the components. Railing in-fill between the posts is mounted via fixed point holders for mounting of Glass or any other in-fill of your choice.
CUSTOMIZATION AT VIVA RAILINGS
We continuously develop new designs and custom products to allow architects, designers, owners, and contractors more choices and innovative new expressions for their impressive commercial projects.
